Why Get a California Boater Card?

⛵ Meet California’s boating-safety requirement

California’s California Boater Card is required for anyone operating a motorized

vessel of any size. Carrying the card while operating a motorized vessel is

mandatory.

Improve your boating safety knowledge

The course covers important subjects such as navigation rules, boating laws, safety

equipment, emergency procedures, weather, and responsible operation.

Build confidence on the water

Whether you’re an experienced captain or relatively new to boating, the class is an

excellent opportunity to review essential skills and learn about California-specific

boating requirements.

Help protect your passengers and fellow boaters

Better knowledge of navigation rules, right-of-way, emergency procedures, and

safety practices can help prevent accidents and keep everyone on the water safer.
